Why Choose a 5+4 Tiered Layout?

The 5+4 tiered configuration provides maximum seating capacity for large dedicated cinema rooms. Placing 5 seats on the rear riser and 4 seats in the front row maintains open side entry corridors while offering generous center-screen viewing angles for both rows.

⚠ Room Depth Requirement: Two-row recliner configurations require a minimum room depth of 18 feet (1.5 ft front screen clearance + 6 ft front row platform + 2.5 ft riser walkway + 6 ft rear platform + 2 ft rear wall clearance).

💡 Glass Holder Standard: Our factory standard armrest width is 5.5 inches, designed to seamlessly house standard cup/glass holders while preserving plush arm padding.

5+4 layout: sizes, room fit and price

Every row is built to your wall. Seats come in 22, 23 or 24 inches and arms in 5 to 7 inches, and custom sizes are free for now.

Row22″ seat · 5″ arm24″ seat · 5.5″ arm24″ seat · 7″ arm
Back row (5 seats, on riser)140″ (11.7 ft)153″ (12.8 ft)162″ (13.5 ft)
Front row (4 seats)113″ (9.4 ft)123.5″ (10.3 ft)131″ (10.9 ft)

Room width: the back row at standard size is 153″ (12.8 ft); add about 2 ft for a side aisle, so plan for a room at least 14.8 ft wide, or choose 22″ seats to save 13″.

Room depth: two full-recline rows need 18 ft (1.5 ft front + 6 ft row + 2.5 ft walkway + 6 ft row + 2 ft rear). A 16 ft room can work as a compact layout with a side aisle, confirmed by our free site assessment.

Riser: the back row sits on a 13–15″ riser for a clear view over the front headrests. Your contractor builds it to our specification; it is not part of our price.

Screen: in an 18 ft room the back row sits about 12 ft from the screen, which suits a 120–150 inch projector screen.
